These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the StarBound education platform at starboundedu.com (the “Platform”), operated by LCM Education Services LLC, doing business as StarBound (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the Platform.
If you are creating an account on behalf of a minor (a child under 18), you represent that you are the child's parent, legal guardian, or an authorized school official, and you accept these Terms on the child's behalf.
StarBound is an adaptive learning platform designed for students in grades K–8. The Platform provides educational content, quizzes, diagnostic assessments, progress tracking, gamification features, and communication tools for students, teachers, parents, and school administrators. The Platform is available through web browsers on desktop and mobile devices.
Student accounts for children under 13 must be created by a parent, guardian, or authorized school official. Students are expected to use the Platform responsibly and in accordance with their school's policies when applicable.
Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising their child's use of the Platform, maintaining accurate account information, and managing notification preferences.
Teacher and staff accounts are provided through participating schools. Teachers are responsible for using the Platform's behavioral and academic tools appropriately and in accordance with their school's policies.
School administrators have access to school-wide settings, student data, and staff management features. Administrators are responsible for ensuring their school's use of the Platform complies with applicable laws and regulations, including FERPA.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.

The educational content on the Platform (lessons, quizzes, study materials, and related resources) is provided for educational purposes only. While we strive for accuracy and alignment with state standards, educational content is not guaranteed to be error-free and should not be relied upon as the sole source of instruction. The Platform is designed to supplement, not replace, classroom instruction and professional educational judgment.

SMS consent is not required to use the Platform. Your consent to receive texts is not a condition of any purchase or service. Compatible carriers include all major U.S. wireless carriers.
Schools using the Platform may be subject to additional terms outlined in a separate School Service Agreement. In the event of any conflict between these Terms and a School Service Agreement, the School Service Agreement shall govern for users associated with that school.
All content, features, and functionality of the Platform — including text, graphics, logos, icons, educational materials, software, and design — are owned by LCM Education Services LLC or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Platform for personal, non-commercial educational purposes (or for institutional use if you are a participating school). This license does not include the right to reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from the Platform's content.
Certain features of the Platform may allow users to submit content (such as essay responses or discussion posts). By submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free right to use that content in connection with operating and improving the Platform. You retain ownership of any original content you submit. We reserve the right to remove any user-generated content that violates these Terms.
Your use of the Platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information. By using the Platform, you consent to the practices described in our Privacy Policy.
The Platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We make no guarantees regarding academic outcomes, student performance, or the suitability of the Platform for any particular educational purpose.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, LCM Education Services LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, arising from your use of the Platform. Our total liability for any claim related to the Platform shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless LCM Education Services LLC, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or your use of the Platform.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Platform at any time, with or without cause and with or without notice. You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us at support@starboundedu.com. Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify users through the Platform and update the “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Sarasota County, Florida.
